Research within scientific projects
2023. Programme of protection and maintenance of intangible cultural heritage Požega, Običaj Grgurevo i vinogradarstvo požeškog kraja (Požega, custom Grgurevo and traditional viticulture of the Požega region) – project of research, documenting and publishing the researched, financed by the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia.
2023. Programme of protection and maintenance of intangible cultural heritage Pašman, Tradicijski godišnji običaj neviska koleda (Pašman, traditional annual custom called neviska koleda) – project of research and documenting, financed by the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia.
From 2020 to 2023 Rahela Jurković had conducted scientific research on the island of Pašman. Its result is the book „Otoče moj lipi“, published in May 2023, with the support from the Ministry of Science and Education.
From 2019 to 2022 Dr. Rahela Jurković was an associate to the scientific project Sport, Discrimination and Integration. Sport as a Vehicle of Social Inclusion and Participation, funded by the Croatian Science Foundation. Within the project Rahela was researching cricket on the island of Vis and in Zagreb, football and other sports across Croatia.
From 2019 to 2020 Dr. Jurković was conducting the scientific project Football and refugees: cultural anthropology of the Balkan corridor (2015-2019), financed from UEFA Research Grant Programme. It was the first and, so far, the only project of a researcher from Croatia that was implemented through that UEFA programme for scientists. In 2019 Dr. Rahela Jurković was the first woman scientist from Southeast Europe who won that prestigious scholarship from UEFA. Furthermore, for the first time that year UEFA funded an individual scientific project dedicated to refugees and football. Rahela conducted the fieldwork in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, North Macedonia, and Serbia.
